ABOUT THE PAINTS: Safety and quality is the utmost priority when working on little faces. Fairy Jennabelle mostly uses Paradise face paints, which is made by a company called Mehron. It has been a professional theatrical makeup company since its founding in 1927 and still leads the market for the best quality and safest face paints on the market. Most of the major brands of face paints use some sort of preservative system to keep bacteria from growing in the products. Since face paints are generally water based, a preservative system is needed. Even so, additional measures are being taken in response to the pandemic.
FACES PER HOUR/SPEED: I can comfortably paint about 10-12 faces/designs an hour, which breaks down to 4-5 minutes a person (this includes the time getting the child in and out of the chair.) For larger public/corporate events where long lines are expected I use a specialized quick design chart of my fastest designs. Please note my quick design chart is only available for large, public and/or school events, not small private parties. A higher hourly rate will also be charged for this option.
CANCELLATION: The booking pre-payment is non-refundable. Refunds are not given for cancellations due to inclement weather. I also do not offer rain dates. I do this because I am a full-time entertainer. When I book a time slot I guarantee that I will be there. Cancellations typically don’t allow me the time to book anything else in its place. Regardless of whether the event happens or not, I still have to pay my balloon artist for his booked time as well. This is standard in the entertainment industry. If planning an outdoor party or event be sure to have a backup venue in place. Please note, backup venues need to be within 2 miles of the original location to protect drive times between my events.
HOLDING A DATE: Dates cannot be held for your party without a completed booking form and a full prepayment for services. So, if you emailed about a date but didn’t finalize your booking at that time, it’s likely that you’ve lost the time slot you wanted. So please remember to book early!
NON-PROFIT REQUESTS: To maintain fairness among all of the organizations in the area that hire us, our rates are fixed. That being said, should you find a sponsor to cover the cost of our professional fee, we would be happy work with you!
PREPARATIONS/SET-UP: As long as shade is provided for us for outdoor events, (and a warm location is provided for cold days), we bring everything else we need with us! No need to provide tables or chairs, etc. For the magic show, please have an open 5-7 space for us to set up our illusions. (This does not include the space needed for the audience.) When preparing for the day of your event, keep in mind we will also need a guaranteed parking space as close as possible to our set-up location.
COVID PREPARATIONS: We are fully vaccinated, boosted and diligent about keeping our community safe. Although the pandemic is officially over, I have decided to continue sanitation procedures while face painting to inhibit the spread of viruses in our community.
STAYING LONGER: If too many people showed up to your party (it happens) our ability to provide overtime is based on our current bookings that day. If we have to leave for another event then unfortunately, we won’t be able to accommodate staying longer. But, if there is room in our schedule and you want us to continue painting/ballooning, overtime is charged in 30 minute increments.
